BCBSIL PPO Network
BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois individual plans use the large BCBSIL PPO network or "BlueChoice" PPO networks. The BCBSIL PPO network includes 96% of metro-area doctors and 98% of Illinois hospitals and is the largest PPO network in Illinois. The plans that utilize this network are:
- SelectBlue, SelectBlue Advantage
- BlueValue, BlueValue Advantage
- BlueEdge HSA, BlueEdge HSA 5000
BlueChoice PPO Network
The BlueChoice Network is a smaller PPO network of doctors and hospitals than the standard BCBSIL PPO network that reduces the cost of BlueChoice plans. The two BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois indiviudal plans that utilize the "BlueChoice" PPO network are:
- BlueChoice Select
- BlueChoice Value
Because of network limitations, the BlueChoice plans are not appropriate for all Illinois residents. These products are basically for residents of Illinois metropolitan areas, including Chicago, Rockford and Springfield.
